Don't fix this by adding six more alarms. Work out whether you never heard it, turned it off half asleep, or chose to stay in bed. Then change that exact moment and make leaving the room easier.
First, drop the courtroom in your head
You wake at 9:26, see the time, and the self-criticism starts before your feet touch the floor. Then embarrassment makes it harder to email the professor or walk into the next class. That spiral costs more than the original miss. You had a bad morning. Deal with the practical part first.
Ask what happened without turning the answer into a personality test. Did you sleep through the sound? Did you dismiss it with no memory? Were you awake and bargaining? Those are different problems. Check the alarm history, ask a roommate what they heard, and be honest about when you actually fell asleep.
Give the alarm somewhere to send you
If your hand can silence the phone from bed, move the task. Scan something by the sink or photograph the packed bag at the door. Put shoes on before you open messages. The point isn't to make waking miserable; it is to get past the two minutes when staying in bed sounds completely reasonable.
For the next week, aim for attendance rather than a perfect routine. Shower later if you need to. Buy breakfast on campus if that gets you out. If you are missing several mornings despite giving yourself enough time to sleep, reach out to student health or accessibility support. You deserve help before the semester becomes a rescue operation.
Common questions
Should I tell my professor I overslept?
Keep it brief and take responsibility without writing a confession. Ask what you missed and say what you are doing to prevent a repeat.
Would a louder alarm solve it?
Maybe if you truly can't hear the current one. If you are turning it off or choosing bed, distance and a useful mission will matter more than volume.
